Your expert local guide will lead you through the manicured lawns to the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple. Towering at 31 meters, it is a triumph of medieval architecture. In the afternoon, you will take a scenic 45-minute drive (approx. 20 km) to Raneh Falls. This geographical marvel is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of India. Here, the Ken River has carved a spectacular 30-meter-deep canyon through pure crystalline granite. What makes this site extraordinary is the rock itself, which presents a striking array of colors ranging from pink and red to misty white and emerald green. During and just after the monsoon season, a series of stunning waterfalls cascade through the jagged gorge, creating a photographer’s paradise.

04:30 PM – Ken Gharial Sanctuary

Adjacent to the falls lies the Ken Gharial Sanctuary. Take a peaceful nature walk along the riverbanks to spot the critically endangered Gharial (a long-snouted crocodile unique to the Indian subcontinent) basking in the late afternoon sun.

06:30 PM – Sound and Light Show

Return to Khajuraho just as the sun sets. Head back to the Western Group of Temples to witness the spectacular Sound and Light Show. Narrated by Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, the show brilliantly weaves the tale of the Chandela kings and the rediscovery of these temples by a British engineer in the 19th century.

Wake up before the sun and grab a hot cup of tea or coffee. Your chauffeur will drive you 30 kilometers south toward the lush, dense forests of Panna National Park. As the morning mist begins to lift, you will transition from the architectural world into a raw, untamed ecosystem.

06:30 AM – Morning Panna Tiger Safari

Upon reaching the Madla or Hinouta gate, you will board an open-air 4x4 Gypsy accompanied by a licensed forest guide. Panna National Park is a massive conservation success story, boasting a thriving population of Bengal tigers.

Following a light lunch, your guide will take you to explore the quieter, yet equally mesmerizing, Eastern and Southern clusters of temples.

The Eastern Group is primarily dedicated to the Jain Tirthankaras. You will visit the Parsvanath Temple, notable for its exquisite sculptures of women engaged in everyday activities—like applying makeup or removing a thorn from a foot. Afterward, drive to the Southern Group to witness the Duladeo Temple and the Chaturbhuj Temple. Notably, the Chaturbhuj Temple is the only major temple in Khajuraho devoid of erotic sculptures, housing a magnificent 9-foot-tall idol of Lord Vishnu.
