Continue Browsing TripsYour epic 15-day cultural tour begins in India’s bustling capital, Delhi. Upon arrival, a private transfer will whisk you to your heritage hotel. Depending on your arrival time, spend the afternoon acclimatizing to the vibrant energy of the city.
In the evening, enjoy an introductory welcome dinner featuring a curated tasting menu of North Indian delicacies. This is the perfect time to review your upcoming Rajasthan 2-week itinerary with your local guide.
After an early breakfast, we drive into the arid Shekhawati region to the town of Mandawa. Historically a wealthy settlement for silk route merchants, Mandawa is globally renowned for its opulent Havelis (mansions) covered in exquisite frescoes.
Spend the afternoon on a guided heritage walk, examining paintings that depict everything from Hindu mythology to the arrival of the British railway.
Subsequently, we journey deeper into the Thar Desert toward Bikaner. Upon arrival, check into your palace hotel. The highlight of the day is exploring the magnificent Junagarh Fort, an unconquered bastion featuring stunning red sandstone and marble courtyards.
Later, visit the old city to witness the rare Usta Art. This traditional Persian art form involves embossing intricate floral patterns onto camel leather and wood using real 24-karat gold leaf.
Today, the landscape transforms dramatically into rolling dunes as we drive to Jaisalmer, the Golden City. The city is named for the yellow sandstone architecture that appears to glow warmly in the sunlight.
Check into your boutique Haveli. Spend a relaxed evening walking through the narrow, labyrinthine streets of this ancient desert outpost, soaking in the medieval atmosphere.
After breakfast, explore the Jaisalmer Fort—one of the only "living forts" in the world, where thousands of residents still live within the ancient walls. Visit the spectacular Patwon Ki Haveli, marveling at its lace-like stone carvings.
In the late afternoon, drive to the Sam Sand Dunes. Here, you will experience the magic of the desert. Ride a camel into the sunset, followed by an evening at an exclusive desert camp.
Leaving the deep desert behind, we travel east to Jodhpur, famously known as the Blue City due to the vivid indigo-washed houses in its old quarter.
In the afternoon, ascend to Mehrangarh Fort. Towering 400 feet above the skyline, it is arguably the most impressive fort in Rajasthan. The museum inside houses an unparalleled collection of royal palanquins, weaponry, and miniature paintings.
This morning is dedicated to a Bishnoi Village Safari. The Bishnoi people are India's premier ecologists, having fiercely protected the local flora and fauna for over 500 years. Observe their sustainable way of life, including traditional pottery making and durry (rug) weaving.
In the evening, explore the bustling Sardar Market around the Clock Tower. It is an incredible place to source hand-embroidered textiles and traditional silver jewelry.
We drive south toward the Aravalli hills today, making a vital stop at Ranakpur. Hidden in a lush valley, the Ranakpur Jain Temple is an architectural masterpiece featuring 1,444 intricately carved white marble pillars—no two of which are exactly alike.
By late afternoon, you will arrive in Udaipur, the "City of Lakes," widely considered the most romantic city in India.
Begin the day at the sprawling City Palace complex, which offers panoramic views of Lake Pichola and the famous floating Taj Lake Palace.
In the late afternoon, take a serene boat ride on Lake Pichola as the sun sets, casting a golden hue over the waters. Later, head to Bagore Ki Haveli for the Dharohar dance show, a high-energy performance showcasing various traditional folk dances of Rajasthan, including the thrilling fire dance and the balancing act of the Bhavai.
Udaipur is the epicenter of Mewar miniature painting. Today, you will visit a generational family of artists to learn about this meticulous craft. Watch as they demonstrate how they grind semi-precious stones to make pigments and use brushes made from a single squirrel hair to paint epic mythological scenes.
The rest of the day is yours to wander the artisan boutiques of the old city or enjoy a spa treatment at your luxury hotel.
After breakfast, we drive to the holy town of Pushkar, home to the only prominent Brahma temple in the world. Pushkar is built around a sacred lake surrounded by 52 bathing ghats.
The atmosphere here is intensely spiritual. In the evening, join the locals at the lake for the Maha Aarti—a mesmerizing Hindu ritual of chanting, bells, and the offering of fire and flower petals to the sacred waters.
Today, we make the short drive to Jaipur, the flamboyant capital of Rajasthan. Known as the Pink City due to the terracotta-colored walls of its historic center, Jaipur is a shopper's and culture lover's paradise.
Spend the afternoon exploring Johari Bazaar, famous for Kundan (gemstone) jewelry, and Bapu Bazaar, ideal for picking up embroidered Mojari (leather shoes).
Wake up early to visit the magnificent Amer Fort, a classic, romantic Rajasthani palace complex perched on a rugged hill. Spend hours exploring its courtyards, particularly the Sheesh Mahal (Palace of Mirrors), where a single candle can illuminate the entire room in a thousand reflections.
In the afternoon, visit the Jantar Mantar (an 18th-century royal observatory with the world's largest stone sundial) and the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds).
On your final full day, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on cultural immersion. Travel to the nearby village of Bagru or Sanganer to learn the intricate art of block printing from master artisans. You will get to stamp your own scarf using hand-carved wooden blocks and natural indigo dyes.
In the evening, celebrate the conclusion of your royal Rajasthan cultural experience with a grand farewell dinner, accompanied by a graceful Ghoomar dance performance.
After a leisurely breakfast, your private chauffeur will drive you back to New Delhi (approx. 4-5 hours) in time for your onward international flight. You will leave with a heart full of memories, a camera full of colors, and a profound appreciation for India's regal heritage.
You can cancel up to 48 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
