Continue Browsing TripsWelcome to the Pink City! Your Rajasthan jungle safari begins the moment you touch down in Jaipur. After a traditional welcome at the airport, you will be transferred to your heritage hotel. After a brief rest and lunch, we skip the standard city tours and head straight into the wild.
In the late afternoon, you will visit the Jhalana Leopard Reserve. This relatively small but highly concentrated park is a unique urban wildlife success story. Navigating through the sandy trails in an open 4x4 Gypsy, you have an excellent chance of spotting a leopard resting in the branches of a Khejri tree.
After a hearty breakfast, we begin our drive to Ranthambore National Park (approx. 3.5 hours). Watching the landscape shift from bustling cityscapes to the rugged Aravalli hills is a treat in itself.
You will arrive at your luxury jungle lodge just in time for lunch. The afternoon is yours to acclimatize to the tranquil forest surroundings. You can choose to relax by the pool, enjoy a nature walk around the lodge's perimeter, or visit the historic Dastkar Ranthambore cooperative to support local artisans. In the evening, your naturalist will give a comprehensive briefing on the next day's tracking strategies.
Today marks the core of your 8 Days Rajasthan Wildlife Tour with Ranthambore – Tiger & Leopard Safari. You will wake up before dawn, fueled by freshly brewed coffee and anticipation.
Your Morning Safari begins as the sun breaches the horizon, casting a golden glow over Padam Talao (lake). You will track fresh pugmarks (footprints) and listen intently for the alarm calls of langurs and sambar deer—the surefire signs that a tiger is on the move. Ranthambore is also home to sloth bears, wild boars, and the majestic crested serpent eagle.
Return to the lodge for a lavish breakfast and a midday rest. In the late afternoon, embark on your Evening Safari in a different core zone of the park. The fading light offers exceptional photography opportunities as predators begin to stir for their nightly hunts.
Before leaving tiger territory, take a morning excursion to the formidable Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site situated deep within the park. The views of the sprawling jungle from the ramparts are breathtaking, and you may even spot a tiger traversing the valleys below.
Following breakfast, we embark on a longer, incredibly scenic drive (approx. 6–7 hours) south toward the Pali district, arriving at the mystical landscape of Jawai. Characterized by undulating granite hills and a sweeping river reservoir, Jawai feels like a different planet. Check into your ultra-luxury safari camp and enjoy a traditional Rajasthani dinner under a canopy of stars.
Unlike national parks with restricted timings, Jawai is a community reserve, allowing for more flexible and intimate safari experiences. Your Morning Leopard Safari takes you off-roading up steep, sheer granite boulders in specialized 4x4 vehicles. The thrill of cresting a massive rock formation to find a leopard family sunbathing just meters away is an adrenaline rush you won’t soon forget.
In the afternoon, experience a profound cultural immersion with a Rabari Village Walk. The Rabari are semi-nomadic shepherds easily identifiable by their striking red turbans and silver jewelry. You will learn how they view the leopards not as threats, but as sacred guardians of their temples.
Enjoy one final Morning Safari in the Jawai wilderness. Because leopards are highly territorial, your trackers will often know exactly which cave to approach to find specific dominant males or mothers with cubs.
After breakfast, we bid farewell to the big cats and drive to the romantic city of Udaipur (approx. 3 hours). Known as the "Venice of the East," Udaipur offers a serene contrast to the rugged safaris. Check into your lakeside hotel and spend the evening enjoying a private sunset boat cruise on Lake Pichola, watching the City Palace illuminate against the night sky.
While today focuses mostly on heritage, we keep the wildlife theme alive. Begin your day with a guided tour of the magnificent City Palace, a sprawling complex of courtyards, pavilions, and hanging gardens.
In the late afternoon, take a short drive up the Aravalli hills to the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which surrounds the famous Monsoon Palace. While you won't find tigers here, the sanctuary is rich with jackals, chital, wild boars, and a diverse array of reptiles. The true reward, however, is watching the sun set over the Aravalli mountains from the palace terrace—arguably the best viewpoint in all of Rajasthan.
Your 8 Days Rajasthan Wildlife Tour comes to an end. After a leisurely breakfast overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Pichola, you will be chauffeured to Udaipur's Maharana Pratap Airport for your onward journey. You will leave with a camera full of spectacular big cat photos and a heart full of wild memories.
You can cancel up to 48 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
